**Rescue Dog Adoption Contract - Understanding and Expectations**

This Rescue Dog Adoption Contract ("Contract") is entered into between [secondchancerescuehardy,], hereinafter referred to as "Rescue," and the adopter, hereinafter referred to as "Adopter." The adoption pertains to the dog identified below:

**Understanding the Nature of Rescue Dogs:**

1. **Imperfections and Goals:**

  The Rescue acknowledges that rescue dogs may come with certain imperfections, including behavioral or health-related challenges. Our primary goal is to ensure the well-being of our adopted pets. We strive to provide you with accurate information about the dog's temperament and health based on assessments by our veterinarians.

2. **Vet Assessments and Goals:**

  The Rescue works closely with veterinary professionals to assess the dogs' health and behavior. We endeavor to address any medical or behavioral concerns identified during these assessments. However, please understand that rescue dogs may require ongoing care, training, and patience as they transition to their new homes.

**Breed Information and Guarantees:**

  While we aim to provide accurate breed information, we cannot guarantee the breed of the dog based solely on appearance or previous owner claims. Many rescue dogs have unknown lineage, and breed identification is an estimation.

**Health and Parasite Treatment:**

  The dog will receive a health check by our veterinarians, and any known issues will be treated or cleared before adoption. However, please be aware that rescue dogs may still experience health challenges or issues that arise post-adoption.

5. **Parasite Treatment:**

  The dog will be treated for parasites, including ear mites and other external parasites. The adopter agrees to follow our recommendation to retreat for parasites within two weeks post-adoption, as a preventive measure.

**Adopter's Responsibilities:**

  The adopter agrees to provide necessary healthcare, including regular veterinary visits, vaccinations, and preventive treatments, to ensure the ongoing health of the dog.

7. **Patience and Training:**

  The adopter acknowledges that some rescue dogs may require patience and training to adjust to their new environment. The Rescue provides support and resources to assist adopters in this process.

**Spay/Neuter Contract for Puppies Under Six Months Old**

This Spay/Neuter Contract ("Contract") is entered into by and between second Chance rescue of hardy ], hereinafter referred to as "Rescue," and the adopter, hereinafter referred to as "Adopter." This Contract pertains to the adoption of the puppy identified below:

**Agreement:**

1. **Spay/Neuter Requirement:**

  The Rescue and Adopter agree that the puppy shall be spayed/neutered as follows:

  - The puppy will be spayed/neutered by a licensed veterinarian before reaching the age of [six months].

  - Adopter agrees to provide the Rescue with a certificate of spay/neuter issued by a licensed veterinarian within [30 days] of the procedure.

2. **Rescue's Responsibility:**

  The Rescue shall ensure that the puppy receives necessary veterinary care and is up-to-date on vaccinations and preventive treatments prior to adoption.

3. **Adopter's Responsibility:**

  The Adopter agrees to:

  - Provide the puppy with proper care, including food, shelter, medical attention, and a safe environment.

  - Abide by all local laws and regulations regarding pet ownership, including licensing and leash laws.

  - Inform the Rescue of any changes in contact information or living situation.

4. **Return Policy:**

  If the puppy is not spayed/neutered within the specified time frame, the Rescue reserves the right to reclaim the puppy without refund of the adoption fee. The Adopter shall be responsible for any costs associated with reclaiming the puppy.
